Prior to joining Xamarin I helped many enterprises with their mobile and cloud strategy and architected several large implementations. I’m excited to see Xamarin Evolve 2016 turning into a great opportunity to share best practices for creating mobile success in the enterprise through our conference session lineup.
This year’s speakers work with the largest enterprises across dozens of industries and see first-hand the opportunities and challenges in successfully going mobile.
Whether you’re building an employee-focused productivity app or creating a better connection to customers through mobile, below are the resources that are the most relevant for you.
Onsite Xamarin University Training
Xamarin University is a fantastic resource for developers getting started with Xamarin, as well as those looking to up their mobile development skill set. The two days of onsite training has something for everyone, including both a Fundamentals track for experienced C# developers who are new to Xamarin and an Intermediate track for developers who have built apps with Xamarin and are looking to learn advanced techniques and best practices. Xamarin Evolve 2016 is the only place for in-person, live training from Xamarin University’s mobile development experts.
Conference Sessions
Xamarin University’s two training days are followed by two days of conference sessions delivered by mobile experts, with talks from industry luminaries like Steve Wozniak, Charles Petzold, Josh Clark, and Grant Imahara, as well as internal and external Xamarin experts from the community.
Enterprise-focused attendees will want to prioritize these sessions:
Creating Enterprise Apps
- Optimizing App Performance with Xamarin.Forms, Jason Smith
- Becoming a XAML Master (Xamarin.Forms), Charles Petzold
App Testing & Monitoring
- Test Driven Xamarin Development, Jesse Liberty
- Test Automation in Practice with Xamarin Test Cloud, Chris Williams & Kev West
- Instrumenting and Monitoring Your Apps in the Wild, Greg Shackles
Architecture & Security
- Addressing Mobile Security Threats Using Xamarin, Alec Tucker
- Is Your App Secure?, Kerry W. Lothrop
- Architecture and Patterns For Connecting Mobile to Enterprise Systems, Steven Yi (me!)
One-on-One Sessions
Another invaluable aspect of Xamarin Evolve is the opportunity to schedule one-on-one time with the Xamarin Engineering team to help debug your code and receive architectural guidance. These experts can also answer your questions about UI design, platform-specific issues, and performance management.
As you can see the lineup of speakers is impressive. I’m most looking forward to the keynotes and ground-breaking product announcements delivered by our co-founders Nat Friedman and Miguel de Icaza.
You’ll notice that I have a session in there, too. It’s a tall order to be in this speaker lineup, so I’m already heads down preparing. Register now to transform your enterprise mobile career and projects and I look forward to meeting you in Orlando!
