We’re excited to announce that we’ve expanded our partnership with Oracle to include Xamarin interoperability with Oracle Mobile Security Suite and integration between Xamarin Test Cloud and Oracle Developer Cloud Service CI. We launched a partnership with Oracle Mobile Cloud Service in July to help enterprises deliver native, enterprise-ready apps to consumers and employees.
Sharing the stage at yesterday’s Oracle OpenWorld Mobile General Session, Xamarin CEO Nat Friedman and Oracle VP of Mobile Strategy and Product Management Suhas Uliyar described how we’ve deepened our relationship to create a truly end-to-end development workflow. Xamarin and Oracle help enterprises deliver high quality native apps, from design to continuous innovation.
Integrating Xamarin Test Cloud and Oracle Developer Cloud Service creates a seamless developer workflow, allowing developers to catch issues quickly, automatically test their apps on Xamarin Test Cloud’s 2000+ devices , and ensure fixes are included with each new release through Oracle Developer Cloud’s CI capabilities. A recent Forrester report outlines the importance of rapid releases: “In the past four years, Android has had 12 releases; iOS is updated just as frequently. Customers will undoubtedly be upgrading, so teams need to plan on a minimum of two to three releases a year per platform just to tread water.” However, this release frequency cannot compromise mobile quality, as users will quickly abandon poorly performing apps. Xamarin and Oracle offer the solution: customers run comprehensive tests to ensure mobile quality and performance, while also allowing for agile DevOps via CI.
Oracle Mobile Security Suite interoperability offers customers even more choice in how they securely deliver high quality, native iOS and Android apps. With the rise of on-the-go workforces, organizations face significant challenges. Enterprises need to secure employees’ access to company information, protect against data leakage, and also ensure apps are user-friendly, with easily accessible data on any device. Now, are able to build their apps with Xamarin and wrap them in an Oracle Mobile Security Suite container, leveraging Oracle Mobile Security Suite for streamlined user authentication, data encryption, advanced data leakage protection, device integrity enforcement, and remote wiping and locking.
